My Top 10

I did a top 25 before but since I'm kinda pooped and I've got an exam to study for, ten would suffice for now.

01) Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor (116 play counts)
I heard this song being sung a few times on Don't Forget The Lyrics. I didn't quite get the motivational touch to it, lyric-wise. But I started hearing snippets of it better and that was when I got hooked. Searched for it on imeem (which has already been embeded on my Friendster profile for quite awhile now), googled up for the lyrics. This song is the definition of empowerment. And it just so happens that I like tigers. Haha.

02) One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head (33 play counts)
I finally got this track without the sickening long-winded intro. Thanks to Class 95's Old Skool compilation CD that I chanced upon (and eventually bought) from HMV. I still love this tune. I can't seems to get over it.

03) Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi (25 play counts)
Remember when I made an entry about this particular song? Of how it sounded all the same despite being performed on different years, when I saw them on youtube? Really good stuff and completely unforgettable.

04) Change [Vinnie Jones Intro] - Joss Stone (22 play counts)
This track still made it tops on my list. It will remain so for many more years to come, I should think.

05) Something That I Already Know - Backstreet Boys (17 play counts)
I am STILL a huge fan of BSB. And they've got a really strong staying power, not to mention their latest stuffs are far better than before. Oh and this song along with a few others made it tops in my previous list and it is somehow the only track from the group to make it in my list this time. Coz I think I played all the other tracks so many times and I eventually got sick and tired of them. But not this one as it seems.

06) Pedih - Awie (14 play counts)
AWIEEEE!!! Ok stop it. LOL. Uhhmm, I don't really know why this song is here. I'm very certain I played Tragedi Oktober more than I played this. So it's kinda baffling. But I love this song anyhoos. Jiwangs yo. Ahakz.

07) Alone - Heart (14 play counts)
On my previous list, I remembered saying that I prefer Celine Dion's rendition of this song. But then I eventually got ahold of the one by Heart. And I fell in love with it too. Can't help it.

08) Viva La Vida - Coldplay (13 play counts)
The intro to this song reminds me so much of Children from Robert Miles. There's a new age vibe to it, though I've yet to allow myself understand the lyrics.

09) I'm Alive - Celine Dion (12 play counts)
Righttttt, I love this song but I didn't realize I played it a lot. Hah.

10) I'll Be Alright - Anggun (11 play counts)
All-time favourite. But once I get my hands on Anggun's new album, it could be a different story altogether.

That's about it. Even then, I do think that this list lack the conviction coz the amount of play counts is just too little, except for Eye Of The Tiger that is. I'll work on reviving the rest of the songs on my ipod. My ipod is after all, going through a recovery stage ever since the virus attack. And maybe I should place some sorta minimum requiremet? Like at least fifty and above play counts, before I can really consider them tops? Yeah, I do think that would be much better.

On Taking Screenshots

I have been trying to figure out how to take screenshots since quite awhile. Googled for some tutorials. So here's my test run...

Great Eastern Women 10KM

I really prefer the 10km route for Standard Chartered's run. GE's a bit too blahhh. It was damn tiring anyway. I got home feeling extra extra lethargic but managed to head over to my uncle's open house in the evening. And believe it or not, I went to bed before 10pm last night. I was THAT tired man. Haha.

Oh, and if you are in the mood for 4D, these are our "lucky" numbers. I think Fad's should be the luckiest considering she put in the extra effort to remain first - from the bottom. LOL.

Poor Tiger

I'm not much of an animal lover but there's this cat that always hangs out at bedok stadium, which had caught my attention since quite awhile. I nicknamed him Tiger partly because he's one fierce cat. There was once when I saw him crouching really low at the field, waiting intently to pounce on the birds that were sorta "mingling" amongst themselves. Another time I saw him practically jumped really high to pounce on a bird. He managed to bite at the bird but he landed on the field, spitting out just a mouthful of feathers. LOL. Fierce much right? Haha.

It's just that today I saw him while I was out for a jog in the evening. And that's rather weird coz Tiger only make his appearances at the stadium in the morning. Plus he didn't come from near the outdoor grandstand, as that's usually his entry point. He came in from the side of the stadium, walking along the sheltered grandstand. I didn't see it clearly at first, but as he was making his way down towards the bottom of the grandstand, I saw him limping. And he looked kinda sadddd. Something bad must have happened to him ayy. Or he probably had one jump too many, that it must have hurt his hind legs. Poor Tigerrr.

This has nothing to do with Tiger or cats for that matter. I found it while googling for a pink nissan murano. Heh.

Anggun

I spent the whole day scouring the internet for Anggun's latest tunes coz the the new album will only reach the asia market in december. Not exactly a futile search. I found tons of blogs linking to a whole lot of her tunes. The catch? A whole bunch of these websites, made a disclaimer stating that the songs are meant for personal preview. Some even made a side note to encourage the 'real fans' to buy her original stuffz. Whilst the rest are super protective of their idol, they totally disabled the right-click function on the song links. WOWWWW. How cool is it to have fans who are super protective of your work that they would go to such lengths to make sure that people do not keep ripping off your music as and when they like for free, and not to mention, illegally.

I would wholeheartedly support the move, if only the songs aren't so inaccesible in sg. Damn. It sure doesn't help when I found out that there was a limited edition version of Luminiscence which features a couple of songs that I love. And obviously I wasn't able to get my hands on that album coz they only churn out 3000 copies and probably have them sold in France only. The latest album also has a limited edition version which I won't be able to get my hands on either. I checked amazon.com, they are not in stock (and even then, I don't understand why some CDs are steeply priced on that website).

So I can only count on the album to be released in asia by december, of which I can be positively sure is just the one comprising tunes in English and Bahasa Indonesia. And none in French. Ergh. Not that I understand French but when it comes to Anggun, I have to listen to her tunes in all three languages. It's more complete that way. I dunno how to explain but that's just how it is. Maybe Anggun should just package her albums in ALL THREE LANGUAGES and sell them all across the globe.

Stupid Deadline

I realized I hadn't been listening to the radio in a very long time. Coz I am at this very moment. And I felt a wave of nostalgia overwhelming me. It's like playing all those songs that I used to listen to on weekend evenings during my sec school days.

I think I stopped listening to the radio ever since I got my first mp3 player. Of which I kept coming up with millions of playlists, or I'd just keep abusing the same song/album on loop. And then when I got the ipod, I got totally carried away watching videos. Plus, the large storage space on ipod only meant that I had an extensive amount of songs from an eclectic range of genres to choose from. I ditched my sony radio until the battery in the remote started oozing out "juice", and is now dead. Damn, I still remember those days when I turned on the radio all throughout the night. It was really my life back then. Wtf.

Anyway, I am now totally stuck on my project. Dammit. And I shot down my own deadline. How convenient. Damn damn damn. It's like doing PW all over again mannnn. And I totally hate it. Yeah, why do I ALWAYS feel miserable whenever I have to do something so academic ehh? I still cannot figure out. Maybe I'd feel better not having to study anymore and counting on myself to save up a year's worth of salary just to get that hawwwtttt handbag. I won't even be able to smell my pink beemer. Yeah right.

And why do I seem to be ONLY motivated by the material perks of life? SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Does owning an entire museum of luxury stuffz constitute happiness in MY encyclopedia??? At this point, YES. But in the long run? I definitely need to back up my future livelihood with something more meaningful. Not just whims and fancies that always always ends up going out of season.

Ok wowwww. It's been ages since I blogged like this. I think so. Do you see how much this project has muddled up my head! Bleah. I guess I'd be better off going to bed. To hell with the bloody deadline.

Yet Another Short Entry

I sat for the exam and SURVIVED. It wasn't so hard actually. It's just that, I totally forgot how absolutely suffocating being in an examination room can be. I hope I can at least pass the paper. That aside, I've got a project to complete and yet another exam scheduled on the 30th.

Met up with Imma after the exam. She need to get her hair fixed. And after which we did the usuals. Raffles City - City Link - Marina Square - Suntec City. Will never get sick and tired of that routine. Haha.

It's the 16th today. Barely ten days to the 10km run. I hope it won't be so chilly on that morning. I really cannot run in that condition coz it tend to make my stomach squirm. As it is I cannot bear going for jogs early in the morning. I'd always preferred running in the evening.

Commercial Break

I always feel miserable whenever I have to study. Why? Why ehh? Anyway, there's yet another tv series to look forward to. If you are a fan of Gossip Girl, I think you'll love Privileged too. I've watched the first few episodes and I kinda like it. Plus, like GG, it is also adapted from a teen book series by Zoey Dean. I forgot the title of the book though. Uhh ok, break time's over. Bleah.

Get In The Loop

Tomorrow's gonna be the airing of an epic episode of Gossip Girl. Coz Serena's gonna fight Blair back and that is sooo gonna be exciting. But heck, I do think that every single episode of GG are epics anyway. Except for, perhaps, the first few episodes of season 2. Seriously, Lord Marcus and the Duchess are two of the most bizzare and unnecessary characters to start the second season. They came and they went.

At least when they introduced Georgina Sparks in the final few episodes of season 1, it was something worth anticipating. What with the double (bitchy) identity Georgina picked up, just to get back at Serena. Ohh, and is it just me or is Blair lesser of a meano in the new season? She's like overly perky in season 2. I really think I prefer her character wayy better in the first season.

The new season of Amazing Race is up and running too! To make it better, channel 5 airs the show the same time as it is being aired in the US. Though it starts sooo early in the morning. 8 am I think? But who cares. It's not like as though I have school to get to early in the morning. I can just wake up at 8 to catch the show and then go back to bed. And maybe wake up around noon to get my assignments over and done with. Hah.

Seems like I'm on a roll, catching on with all these entertainment stuffz. Coz there was a period of time when I couldn't be bothered to keep myself in the loop with all the latest tv shows. And life was pretty bleak then. I didn't know watching tv can be therapeutic and super enriching. I should have known better. It sorta opens up your window (really wide) to the world, that's why. Though some may think that tv does more harm than good. Uhh, at this point in time, I'd like to think otherwise.

So other than the tv, I have been trying my best to update myself with the latest tunes. Made some improvements. But I still prefer to revert my ears to the tunes from the 80s and 90s. And even oldies. Somehow, those tunes will forever have that 'feel good' vibe to it. And of course, I can actually live through the day playing Anggun on repeat. Seriously. On that note, her latest album is coming out sooonnn! I-am-so-excited! Lol.

At this point in time, I already have several albums stuffed into my ipod. Those stuffz that I wasn't much inclined to listen to back then. I thought I might as well catch on with the hype that Jason Mraz have caused. Really good earworms, I have to say. But he sound so much like Jack Johnson. I gave up Jack Johnson after a really short while coz the songs are too laid back and slowy and kinda melancholy at times. No chance telling when I'll give up JM eh. I guess I can endure BSB's sappy pop/rock ballad or even Bon Jovi's slow tunes. Their's brings about a deep effect. Extremely heart-tugging, I tell ya. I'll save JM and JJ for rainy days though.

One final note, I've got my exam scheduled for this coming Thursday. That's it.

Randoms

I just came back from a sushi outing with my couz. Caught sight of the stuffz on my desk, and I kinda like how those stuffz that I randomly placed on it matched my tech stuffz. All red. The hairband, the latest issue of Reader's Digest and the sappy compilation of Love Songs CD.
This is probably one-tenth of the food that we ate at Hei Sushi. We ate tons! Couldn't be bothered to take so many pics coz we're really enjoying the food. Anyway, I really love the potato croqette (spell?), the one on the black plate. It's potato fritters with crispy coating drizzled with some sorta sweet sauce. I would down ten servings if I could but usually you'd get that muak feeling after just two plates. How sad.

Trooping In

We don our traditional clothes. Played with the kids. Ate tons of food. Took lotsa pics. I'm really out of words, just enjoy the visuals yo. Ohhh, and I put the pic of the baby right on top. She's soooo adorable. The third and fourth pic is her sister. Aliya & Aisyah (spell?).

Killing Time

My cousin came earlier for the open house held on saturday. Had a lot of time to kill since the guests only came in at around evening. So we killed it off fooling around with the webcam stuffz. I found out that my webcam can record videos using strange voices. Kids, depression, munchkins, funny accents, etc. And I especially loovee the female to male voice. Bapok rabak siols. Lol. It's just too bad that my webcam produces lousy picture quality. Bleahhh.
