Now we know who's the next U.S. president. Not like I've been keeping tabs of all the electoral stuffz. But I was kinda rooting for Sarah Palin ever since Hillary Clinton became sucha letdown. YES! I was hoping a woman would come in power, irregardless of their capabilities. It doesn't make a difference anyway. Coz those who comes into power eventually screws everybody up. It's like the bedrock upon which the political system was formed, and that's how it's been, then and now. For every leader who comes into power, somebody will actually have to suffer some unpredictable consequances. It's a natural political cycle. No leaders can please or appease everyone. It's highly impossible. Plus no leaders can be so perfect either. Which is why, I thought that it doesn't matter who has the better portfolio. As long as a woman is in the running, I'm all supportive. As it turns out, not all women have the mentality that "Because you are a woman so I shall vote for you". I guess it really reflects the amount of level headed-ness women posseses now and that they will not blindly give in to 'sisterhood pride', without weighing the pros and cons of the possible circumstances in the long run. Having the capacity and credibility to make things better actually matters. The colour of your skin or your gender does not exactly draws boundaries either. Still, it would have been really good to have a woman in such a powerful position. Next election perhaps?

Saturday Prowlers
Saturday morning and I had to wake up so early just to get the financial matters done. Coz I didn't wanna get fined fifty bucks just for some late payments. Seriously man, it's like my term ends in 2011 dammit. So even if iI did delay for just a few days worth of payment, that does not mean I could easily run away from them forever! And then I got so lost looking for the bank at the CBD area. I'd been there many times but it's so impossible for me to remember which-is-where. I even couldn't figure out which exit to get out off, from the MRT station.
By the time I found the bank, it was already closed (saturday's a half day after all). Thankfully, they have the express cheque deposit box. As per usual, I'll never be able to find my way back to the train station after every visits to the bank. So I headed to the usual bustop to get a bus to city hall. But I missed my stop and ended up at bugis, the very first place I dropped down to settle my school stuffs. Damn, I so didn't know there's a direct bus to the bank laaa! Blahhhh!
Luckily, things started to look up after the whole financial catastrophe (LOL!). Met Imma for the usuals. Lunched at marina square where we feast on naan and masala chicken. Actually it's the second time this week we ate the same thing, though the first time we had the set with tandoori chicken. It's really good hokay. I guess we've gotten over zamzam's murtabak already. So our latest food craze, marina square's naan. Imma suggest that we head on down to serangoon for the real deal, which are yummier and cheaper. Soon? Haha!
Went in Times to browse for some mags and after which we walked over to one fullerton. It's been quite awhile since we head over to the merlion. The place now has several new additions. There's gelare and coffee bean, and this tapas eatery thing. But we just made our way towards starbucks as per usual. Java chip frappucino, as per usual. We realized that time passes really slowwwww. So we went on yet another round at marina square after the starbucks break. Lol.

My Top 10
I did a top 25 before but since I'm kinda pooped and I've got an exam to study for, ten would suffice for now.
01) Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor (116 play counts)
I heard this song being sung a few times on Don't Forget The Lyrics. I didn't quite get the motivational touch to it, lyric-wise. But I started hearing snippets of it better and that was when I got hooked. Searched for it on imeem (which has already been embeded on my Friendster profile for quite awhile now), googled up for the lyrics. This song is the definition of empowerment. And it just so happens that I like tigers. Haha.
02) One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head (33 play counts)
I finally got this track without the sickening long-winded intro. Thanks to Class 95's Old Skool compilation CD that I chanced upon (and eventually bought) from HMV. I still love this tune. I can't seems to get over it.
03) Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi (25 play counts)
Remember when I made an entry about this particular song? Of how it sounded all the same despite being performed on different years, when I saw them on youtube? Really good stuff and completely unforgettable.
04) Change [Vinnie Jones Intro] - Joss Stone (22 play counts)
This track still made it tops on my list. It will remain so for many more years to come, I should think.
05) Something That I Already Know - Backstreet Boys (17 play counts)
I am STILL a huge fan of BSB. And they've got a really strong staying power, not to mention their latest stuffs are far better than before. Oh and this song along with a few others made it tops in my previous list and it is somehow the only track from the group to make it in my list this time. Coz I think I played all the other tracks so many times and I eventually got sick and tired of them. But not this one as it seems.
06) Pedih - Awie (14 play counts)
AWIEEEE!!! Ok stop it. LOL. Uhhmm, I don't really know why this song is here. I'm very certain I played Tragedi Oktober more than I played this. So it's kinda baffling. But I love this song anyhoos. Jiwangs yo. Ahakz.
07) Alone - Heart (14 play counts)
On my previous list, I remembered saying that I prefer Celine Dion's rendition of this song. But then I eventually got ahold of the one by Heart. And I fell in love with it too. Can't help it.
08) Viva La Vida - Coldplay (13 play counts)
The intro to this song reminds me so much of Children from Robert Miles. There's a new age vibe to it, though I've yet to allow myself understand the lyrics.
09) I'm Alive - Celine Dion (12 play counts)
Righttttt, I love this song but I didn't realize I played it a lot. Hah.
10) I'll Be Alright - Anggun (11 play counts)
All-time favourite. But once I get my hands on Anggun's new album, it could be a different story altogether.
That's about it. Even then, I do think that this list lack the conviction coz the amount of play counts is just too little, except for Eye Of The Tiger that is. I'll work on reviving the rest of the songs on my ipod. My ipod is after all, going through a recovery stage ever since the virus attack. And maybe I should place some sorta minimum requiremet? Like at least fifty and above play counts, before I can really consider them tops? Yeah, I do think that would be much better.

I have been trying to figure out how to take screenshots since quite awhile. Googled for some tutorials. So here's my test run...

Great Eastern Women 10KM

I really prefer the 10km route for Standard Chartered's run. GE's a bit too blahhh. It was damn tiring anyway. I got home feeling extra extra lethargic but managed to head over to my uncle's open house in the evening. And believe it or not, I went to bed before 10pm last night. I was THAT tired man. Haha.

Poor Tiger
I'm not much of an animal lover but there's this cat that always hangs out at bedok stadium, which had caught my attention since quite awhile. I nicknamed him Tiger partly because he's one fierce cat. There was once when I saw him crouching really low at the field, waiting intently to pounce on the birds that were sorta "mingling" amongst themselves. Another time I saw him practically jumped really high to pounce on a bird. He managed to bite at the bird but he landed on the field, spitting out just a mouthful of feathers. LOL. Fierce much right? Haha.
It's just that today I saw him while I was out for a jog in the evening. And that's rather weird coz Tiger only make his appearances at the stadium in the morning. Plus he didn't come from near the outdoor grandstand, as that's usually his entry point. He came in from the side of the stadium, walking along the sheltered grandstand. I didn't see it clearly at first, but as he was making his way down towards the bottom of the grandstand, I saw him limping. And he looked kinda sadddd. Something bad must have happened to him ayy. Or he probably had one jump too many, that it must have hurt his hind legs. Poor Tigerrr.
This has nothing to do with Tiger or cats for that matter. I found it while googling for a pink nissan murano. Heh.

Anggun
I spent the whole day scouring the internet for Anggun's latest tunes coz the the new album will only reach the asia market in december. Not exactly a futile search. I found tons of blogs linking to a whole lot of her tunes. The catch? A whole bunch of these websites, made a disclaimer stating that the songs are meant for personal preview. Some even made a side note to encourage the 'real fans' to buy her original stuffz. Whilst the rest are super protective of their idol, they totally disabled the right-click function on the song links. WOWWWW. How cool is it to have fans who are super protective of your work that they would go to such lengths to make sure that people do not keep ripping off your music as and when they like for free, and not to mention, illegally.
I would wholeheartedly support the move, if only the songs aren't so inaccesible in sg. Damn. It sure doesn't help when I found out that there was a limited edition version of Luminiscence which features a couple of songs that I love. And obviously I wasn't able to get my hands on that album coz they only churn out 3000 copies and probably have them sold in France only. The latest album also has a limited edition version which I won't be able to get my hands on either. I checked amazon.com, they are not in stock (and even then, I don't understand why some CDs are steeply priced on that website).
So I can only count on the album to be released in asia by december, of which I can be positively sure is just the one comprising tunes in English and Bahasa Indonesia. And none in French. Ergh. Not that I understand French but when it comes to Anggun, I have to listen to her tunes in all three languages. It's more complete that way. I dunno how to explain but that's just how it is. Maybe Anggun should just package her albums in ALL THREE LANGUAGES and sell them all across the globe.

Stupid Deadline
I realized I hadn't been listening to the radio in a very long time. Coz I am at this very moment. And I felt a wave of nostalgia overwhelming me. It's like playing all those songs that I used to listen to on weekend evenings during my sec school days.
I think I stopped listening to the radio ever since I got my first mp3 player. Of which I kept coming up with millions of playlists, or I'd just keep abusing the same song/album on loop. And then when I got the ipod, I got totally carried away watching videos. Plus, the large storage space on ipod only meant that I had an extensive amount of songs from an eclectic range of genres to choose from. I ditched my sony radio until the battery in the remote started oozing out "juice", and is now dead. Damn, I still remember those days when I turned on the radio all throughout the night. It was really my life back then. Wtf.
Anyway, I am now totally stuck on my project. Dammit. And I shot down my own deadline. How convenient. Damn damn damn. It's like doing PW all over again mannnn. And I totally hate it. Yeah, why do I ALWAYS feel miserable whenever I have to do something so academic ehh? I still cannot figure out. Maybe I'd feel better not having to study anymore and counting on myself to save up a year's worth of salary just to get that hawwwtttt handbag. I won't even be able to smell my pink beemer. Yeah right.
And why do I seem to be ONLY motivated by the material perks of life? SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Does owning an entire museum of luxury stuffz constitute happiness in MY encyclopedia??? At this point, YES. But in the long run? I definitely need to back up my future livelihood with something more meaningful. Not just whims and fancies that always always ends up going out of season.
Ok wowwww. It's been ages since I blogged like this. I think so. Do you see how much this project has muddled up my head! Bleah. I guess I'd be better off going to bed. To hell with the bloody deadline.
