Blue Green Red

From what the consultant told me in our phone conversation recently, they had actually moved their office to Parkway Parade. Though I am not sure if they brought the entire academic setup along coz they could possibly just move the admin office there and still conduct lectures/workshops at Tanjong Pagar. I don't know for sure. But if the whole of AAA really did move over to PP, then I can count on going back and forth to a place that is very much in close proximity to my place. Apart from that, PP is really my favourite place, and I really love the surrounding area over there, so that has got to be a major plus point for me.

Anyhow, I met up with Imma and Nurul for lunch at Ramen Ten. As per usual, I had my super spicy ramen which I kept dousing with those chilli flakes thingy despite it already being spicy. I really love them extremely spicy. Don't blame me, coz my mum hardly ever cook super spicy stuffz at home. As it is, nobody in my household can tolerate much spicy-ness in their food. That explains much ayy. Haha. Both Imma and Nurul had tom yum stuffz. And we ordered three types of sushis to share, and I love how colourful our drinks looked side by side.

We ended up at the ARCADE once again. This time around we had a blast playing air hockey (that's what you call it right?). I swear it was supremely funnnn. So much better than playing daytona yawww. We found made-in-korea hairbands that are awesomely cheap. The exact same stuffs that Amanda stock up on, at VERY STEEP PRICES. Bleah.

I wanted to get the Class 95's compilation CD from HMV at Heeren but they didn't have it there. But I did see Connie Talbot's album. That cute little girl from Britain's Got Talent. I'd get my hands on that CD but that'll be too much money spent on a single day. Oh wells. So we head over to City Link next, to find my CD. After which Nurul had a kinda "panic attack" and wanted something to ease her mind. Lol. We pegged our budget at 15 bucks. A toss between Starbucks or Swensen's. Guess where we land ourselves at? The ever reliable Mac's where we got de-stress worthy junks at a little less than 8 bucks. Cheapskate ayyyy. Kekeke. And bacause of that we had a little cash to spare for a couple of 'Friends Forever' bracelet.

And this entry is going on in lengths, mostly to cover all the superficial encounters we had. And that doesn't look so good, does it? Hah. We had F-U-N. That's what matters. So I shall stop here. To sum it all up, we absolutely need a two on two at air hockey A.S.A.P! The relevant parties, please take note!

My Top 25

It just so happens that ipods keep track of the number of times any particular songs are being played. So here's the lowdown of my top twenty-five.

1) Treat Me Right - Backstreet Boys (144 play count)
A one of a kind BSB tune. I had visions of bodybuilders with a ponytail bobbing their heads to this tune. Seriously, DO NOT ask why.

2) I'll Be Alright - Anggun (138 play count)
I have to say, Anggun is like my super hero already. Well, at least her songs are. My life have never really been in shambles but this tune made me feel good almost all the time, regardless of the circumstances.

3) Something That I Already Know - Backstreet Boys (106 play count)
Coz I know that I'd get sick and tired of playing Treat Me Right over and over again, so I made myself fell in love with this song, as a kind of temporary diversion, as and when I need it. My one for one deal. Hah.

4) Change (Vinnie Jones Intro) - Joss Stone (99 play count)
This track is not exactly a song. More of a motivational spoken track. "We sometimes regard it as a metaphor that reflects the way things ought to be..."

5) Arms Of My Baby - Joss Stone (88 play count)
Actually, I got hooked to this song before I started paying attention to No. 4. The thing about this song, I love the rhythm but I hardly ever pay attention to the lyrics.

6) Alone - Celine Dion (71 play count)
Everyone knows what supreme powerhouse vocals that Celine Dion posesses. But I love this song so much even though it's just a cover version. I heard the one from the original group, Heart who sang this song, and also a rendition by Carrie Underwood. But the one sang by Celine Dion is really exceptional. The best of them all yawww.

7) Never Stop - Hilary Duff (70 play count)
My ultimate jog tune because somewhere in the middle of the song, Hilary Duff kinda chants "never stop, never stop, never stop, never stop...". Oooohh yeahhh, just the right kinda tune to keep me going especially when I'm so wiped out, halfway through my jogging session.

8) Ten Feet High - Andrea Corr (56 play count)
The only song I like from Andrea Corr's album. A song about heartbreak and drifting apart.

9) Devil In My Mind - Anggun (55 play count)
One upbeat tune that I'll never get tired of. I pretty much love the "attitude" in this song. Go find the lyrics if you wanna know why.

10) On My Way - Phil Collins (54 play count)
Motivational, Inspirational. Phil Collins always sings the best of such tunes.

11) Cinta Terakhir - Ari Lasso (52 play count)
Like finally a malay tune ayyy. I was really really slow in finding out about this song man. It's like so last season. Haha!

12) Children - Robert Miles (52 play count)
I've been saving this tune for my hot pink retractable hard top convertible. Though I can't believe that I'd only play it 52 times! C'mon man, I swear I played this song A MILLION TIMES!

13) Can't Fight The Feeling - Celine Dion (51 play count)
"Love, love, love...and John Lennon says that was all you need..."

14) Helpless When She Smiles - Backstreet Boys (49 play count)
I half expected Something I Already Know to be BSB's second single for their latest album. But this song came out though.

15) With Love - Hilary Duff (49 play count)
I feel in love with Hilary Duff all over again because of this song and the video that came along with it and also the fact that she's gotten so much hotter.

16) Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall (49 play count)
Took me awhile to find the title of this song after hearing it from the intro in the movie, Devil Wears Prada. It's liberating, both lyrical and musical. Another ultimate jog tune.

17) Look Into Yourself - Anggun (47 play count)
The first few songs from Anggun that I'd fallen in love with even till today.

18) Open Your Heart - Anggun (46 play count)
A french movie soundtrack, I think.

19) Look Through My Eyes - Phil Collins (46 play count)
Yep, motivational and inspirational too.

20) Any Other Way - Backstreet Boys (45 play count)
I really don't know how this song made it tops in my ipod. I don't like it that much ayyy.

21) One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head (45 play count)
If not for the sickening intro which eats up 1 min and 47 seconds of the song, this tune would have made it to the number one spot. Haha.

22) Apologize (feat One Republic) - Timbaland (43 play count)
I just had to find out the title of this song after hearing it on Gossip Girl. Ya know the episode when Serena had a conflict with her grandmother and how Lily finally learned to be less judgemental of Dan.

23) Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon - Backstreet Boys (41 play count)
Not exactly an ear worm but nice any ways.

24) Fade Away - Celine Dion (40 play count)
Yet another jog tune.

25) Snow On The Sahara - Anggun (39 play count)
"If your hope scatter like the dust across your track, I'll be the moon that shines on your path, the sun may blind our eyes I'll pray the skies above, for snow to fall on the sahara. If that's the only place where you can leave your doubts, I'll hold you up and be your way out and if we burn away I'll pray the skies above, for snow to fall on the sahara..."

Picture Heavy

Ahhh yes, pictures from the umrah trip which I've been putting off for so long.

At the entrance of this particular structure at Mada'in Saleh, which houses some tombs.

Inside the structure.
The next few pictures are of the various rock structures found at the rock settlement. Some of which reminds me of National Treasure. Heh.

Scriptures or carvings. I definitely cannot decipher.
This elephant mountain was our last stop for our visit at Mada'in Saleh. Incidentally the sun was setting at the back of this structure. It's so much more scenic to watch the sunset here as compared to watching the sunset at VEEVOH. Hah.
Yes, the elephant is huge! Just look at how puny all those people are whilst standing underneath the structure. And by the way, this elepahnt mountain came about naturally. How it happend? By god's will. Yeah.

At the top of Jabar Rahmah. That's the name if I'm not wrong.
In the middle of nowhere.
Some roadside stalls, selling stuffz that are super pretty and super cheap.
Camel. I thougt its facial expression was kinda cute. Kekeke.
Guess what those "pebbles" are? Lol!
All decorated and ready to go.

Now for some random and superficial pics...

Airplane food. I was pretty much in love with the bun and the cube of butter they provided and nothing else. Don't ask why.
Anndddd, the donut bug was pretty much prevalent even while I was in Saudi Arabia. Seriously, the donuts there are major kickass. I love the flat fritter-like donut which was glazed and flavored with cinnamon. It's the one caught in between the two donuts at the right side.
Whahahaha! This is crazyyyyy. It's just that some of the chocolates I got from there, cannot be found here (screw candy empire!). And they are super yummeh hokay.

Earth Day

This Is The Time - Art Fazil

Too many cars, too much smoke
too much smoke is choking up my throat
so many forest losing trees
there'll be golf courses by the end of the century
so much warning on global warming
there's a hole in the sky that we are ignoring

this is the time to talk about the earth
talk about the sky
talk about the birds,
the trees and the little child

so many hungry so many starved
there's so much food why don't we ever have enough
too much rhetoric nothing is done
they keep on bickering as war and famine rages on
so many mothers so many babies
they are the victims of this third world disease

this is the time to talk about the earth
talk about the sky
talk about the birds
the trees and the little child

Why?

too much sex too much violence
it's a dangerous time for the young and the innocent
so many children being abused
all for money to keep the perverted amused
so many dead many infected
is this Sodom Gomorrah revisited?

this is the time to talk about the earth
talk about the sky
talk about the birds
the trees and the little child
***

Fine, I may be a little too late to acknowledge the commemoration of Earth Day but at least this is something right? Hah. The thing about the lyric above is that it is taken from an album which dated back since the early 90s. I couldn't recall if there were even much hype about all these environmental awareness back then. Either nothing much were done or I was too young to actually understand.

But all in all, it goes to show that the environmental problems we are facing now were pretty much prevalent even since 18 years ago. It could be much longer actually. Somehow, campaigns to save the earth are made more extensive now possibly because the earth is on the verge of a major breakdown already. Things have gotten worse obviously.

Well, I just came back from my jog awhile ago. And so I was thinking, if everybody stop making use of workout machines which make use of electricity, and take their workout outdoors instead, that could possibly grant us some 'green' points. So whaddya think? Ditch those treadmills for instance, and go for your runs at the stadium, parks, reservoirs etc etc. Embrace nature ayy. Will do some good. Haha.

Oh and if you are at the public toilet, just make use of a single piece of tissue paper to dry up your hands instead of making use of the hand dryer. Now, I am personally gonna need some time to get used to that coz I always make use of the hand dryers.

Not forgetting, I should really try to go to bed with the lights off. I have not been doing that for ages. Coz I've been spooked before.

As it seems, my idea of saving the earth revolves mostly around cutting the usage of electricity (though there are a lot of other measures for us to earn those 'green' points). Because I am guilty of using them excessively and unnecessarily. So there.

When The Sun Shines On The Mountain

I should really try to wake up early once and for all. It's the same old thing every single day. I'd wake up early enough for prayers only to fall back to sleep all the way till twelve in the afternoon. Back then I'd always wondered how anyone could actually live with themselves not waking up to sunrise. And now I'm the one living it. Just beacause there's really no purpose for me to wake up so early. Unless I wanna go for an early morning jog, which I've not done so in quite awhile coz I'd rather jog in the evening.

The only two days I'd make sure I haul myself out of bed early would be on thursdays and saturdays, because I cannot miss The Straits Times on those two days. So I gotta wake up in time or else the shop at my block's void deck would have run out of those prints already.

Still, all good things will come to an end soon. What more since I've already signed up for further studies. Once I get the confirmation and finalized schedules and workload, I know I'm gonna miss this phase of my (supremely unproductive) life very much. But what the hell, those years in school had been equally unproductive too. So who am I trying to kid? Hah.

Hokay...Gossip Girl is back and I still owe those pics from the umrah trip. Till then!

No Idea

Sent the luggage for repair on Friday. Accompanied Imma to get some cheap threads from Cotton On. Cik Ana's charkuay. Dinner at Cavana which was so not nice. My cousin tried Dulce de Leche. And here are the pictures...
Sooo retard, yesss??? It runs in the bloodline I guess. Haha!

I keep sticking my tongue out. My cousin trying to achieve some sorta "spiritual awakening" (BELO!!!), see the third picture on top (left to right). All ME.

And that's all for this entry!

Mateys Ahoyy!

Hokay, time for some updates. First and foremost I've finally been able to retrieve all my photos from the umrah trip. So that will come up soon enough though friendster was quite a brat the day I wanted to upload those pics, that I only managed to upload very few of them.

So I was out browsing for stuffs with Fad yesterday, from Funan to Citylink to Marina Square, and all the way to Suntec. Yeah, the usual stretch. Fad managed to get a couple of MP3 players at quite a steal plus some other stuffs. While I got an Ipod cable to connect to the TV plus a top from Cotton On. I thought I had learnt my lesson to NOT step into an arcade anymore. Especially after burning five bucks so quickly on monday when we were with Nurul and Imah. But noooo, we just had to check out the arcade at Suntec. Which, by the way, SUCKS coz the machines kept eating up our tokens. But we had our fair share of fun anyways.

Pictures from our outing on monday...
Nurul's birthday surprise. Ahh yess, our birthday girl was featured on the front page of Model mag. Lol. That's a framed picture of us. And Fad had nicely baked a yummy cake to celebrate the birthday.

Nurul posing with the presents from us. Heh.

Me and Imah.

And the first part of the celebration begins with a few games of STRESS! That was after we had eaten the cake. Oh, we had a couple of drinks from starbucks, one of which was the new concoction with the most weirdest name. Dulce de Leche (LECEH to pronounce ayyy). Nurul says it tasted like paddle pop. Hah.

Second part of the celebration...was...well, lunch at the foodcourt. Haha.

A little bit of camwhoring at the toilet...

Me with each one of them. Oh yes, Hidayah couldn't make it that day coz she wasn't feeling well. So we were missing one monkey lah ye. Lol.

And then comes the third part of the celebration at the ARCADE!!!

Just so you know, I found out that the camera had been switched to some funky mode and I didn't know about it. Only figured it out when I saw how YELLOWWW the pics turned out to be. Yeah, a little bit of cursing and swearing there and I nearly smashed the camm. But I'm a-ok with it now. Ha ha ha.

Million dollar bayybehhh.

We kinda need more blings here.
Ha ha ha.
Getting hyped up for the upcoming F1 race in Singapore. What onlyyy.
Whahahaha! True love ehhh. We are like one of the ten
CUTE COUPLES featured in the mag hokay. Lol!

Updated

My photos are still not showing. Even the latest ones from the seoul garden outing are not showing either. And now my screen is showing crappy red streaks across dark backgrounds. Bleah.

Anyways, I have been going out for five straight days. Doing nothing but idling, eating tons and spending lots and lots of money on food. Ke rayy zeee. I know. Plus I've not been jogging for quite awhile now because I've been blowing a trombone through my nose, yeah sticky mucus and yellowish-green phlegm, for about a week now. Also, my running shoes died out on me.

So letsee what I've been up to those days I was out...

Thursday was Imah's off day, so I met up with her and headed for bugis before making our way for our makan session at marina. Heh. We actually had to call for a majority vote in deciding between seoul garden or breeks. SMSed some people to actually help us decide. Haha. I managed to get a necklace from diva to add on to my never-ending collection. Of which, I'd mostly end up wearing my favourite handcuff necklace. So I really don't know why I bother to buy anymore of them. Heh.

Movie day on Friday with my cousin. We watched Bucket List which, as I'd read from somehwere, was given a positive review. But the whole cinema was hardly filled when we were there to watch. Then it was the endless gorging session. From cheapo yummy bread from the bakery, to superbly tantalizing combination of pretzel and vanilla ice cream. Oh yeah, we went from tamp (for movies) to PP (to exchange some foreign currencies).

Saturday was a very last minute gathering for the GMs. Though Fad could not make it and Imah had to leave early. Uhhmm, it has been a long while since we last met. Had our meals at KFC coz Hidayah was craving for one. Hahz. And we saw this freaking malay pakcik with a china prost. Eugh. I managed to buy a patent pink cluth at quite a steal.

And then the hunt for my running shoes begin. Seriously, I don't understand sports stores which gives such a royal name to themselves only to be a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS when it comes to serving customers. You know which sports store I'm talking about ayy. The one at marina wasn't so bad though, a small consolation albeit those disastrous visits to the other outlets.

Thankfully their stores does not stock up on Brooks. So I was saved from the phobia of entering any other "royal" stores when I finally decided to continue with wearing Brooks since it was the most comfortable among all the other brands I've used before. Crap, I'm NEVER going there anymore. Seriously. For quite a long time I never had a problem looking for shoes at those "royal" stores. But now, every trip to the store serves as a timebomb waiting to explode. Screw them.

I finally found my running shoes yesterday at a sports store at the airport. So it's the airport and so excellent service is somewhat expected. So the next time I wanna look for running shoes, I'm heading for the airport. Hah. BUT, I got the wrong size thanks to my flippy-ness. Which means that I'm gonna have to head out today. That makes six consecutive days of going out and doing pretty much nothing.

Photos will come soon hopefully...

Further Studying

Headed down to erc to gather some information for further studies with Nurul. Was greeted by the sight of a magnificent maserati. Ok, maybe I'm a little bit...flippy (alright, VERY flippy), but I'd thought that maseratis are small (from what I saw on those photo search engines)? Like slightly bigger than a z4 maybe? But it's actually pretty huge. And really grannnddd. Man, I can't even come close to getting to my retractable hard top hot pink bmw, and there you have the godfather of all cars (oh wait, I'm very sure there are plenty more Godfathers but we'll just narrow down our sights for a moment yawww), sitting at the carpark. Nope its no show room baybeh. That car belongs to a millionaire. Wooooooo~

So lets not get distracted any further. I'm almost certain that I'm gonna be enticed by plenty more godfathers and goodfellas, should I sign up to study at erc. Coz the school is located at the outskirts of orchard road. It screams ELITE RESIDENTIALS. That, equates to supremely handsome cars whizzing down the road every few seconds.

Well, I'm still distracted. Whadehell.

Those cars aside. The fee's a bomb. The school reminds me of bartley though it's not that pre-historic. The earliest I can start is later this month! God, I dunno whether I should just proceed with the april's intake or delay for a little bit more. If I take on the course starting this month, I can look forward to earning that degree early, by 2010 (yay, YOG!). And then I wonder what I'm gonna do once I've attained that degree. Yeah, confusing. If I delay it for another few months, I don't know what I'm gonna be doing either for those months that I'm idling. Yeah, even more confusing. Ok, actually I should look out for a job ayy. Hahz. I guess I'll make my decision by end of this week.

In the meantime, I'm gonna have to browse for all the information on further studies in other places. There isn't really any that offers health sciences - nutrition and dietetics to be exact. Theres's the one under the american alliance education. But of course, my eligibility is gonna be questionable coz I wasn't a science student. I know it may seem crazy, like all these last minute ambitions. It definitely make me regret not being in good terms with science ever since I was in primary school. And now it could be a little too late? But I'll never know unless I try to find out. Bleah.

Lets hope my next hunt for information will let me come face to face with yet another supreme car.

Back Home

Hello there. Haha. I should have posted up the pictures from my umrah trip but there has been a lot of technical glitches. Like for instance, some of the pictures refuse to show on my laptop though it can still be viewed on the camm. And I've yet to try them out on all the other comps. So that may take awhile. On top of that, there are like too many pics. I tried to settle with a few of them that I can rip off from my comp, even made two drafts on blogger but then being the most fickle-minded idiot, I did not proceed to publish an entry with them. Just because.

Anyhow, the trip there was an eye-opener. I still cannot get over the fact that I saw the Kaa'bah with my very own eyes. The feeling was just WOW. You gotta be there in the flesh to see it for yourself to know how it feels. And to be at such a close proximity with it is just so surreal. I should know coz I couldn't stop taking subsequent glances at it everytime I'm inside Masjidil Haram. Other than that, I get to kiss Hajar Aswad. Something I never thought I'd get to do. Coz the crowd was really scary, I was so afraid that I would just trip and fall and be trampled on. Even managed to get into Hijir Ismail to do our prayers despite having to brave through the endless throng of people who are doing their Tawaf. The only one spot we missed out on was Multazam. Me and my mum were already so close but the guard decided to shoo us away. Not our luck I guess.

Madinah was yet another breathtaking scenery on its own. Especially at Masjid Nabawi. The day I set foot there, it was very empty and it was windy and chilly despite the blazing sun. A magical combination I have to say. The mosque is a spectacular structure on its own if you're to look at it from the outside. It is even more amazing inside with its marble surfaces and the pillars seem to have parts of it covered with what seem like gold. I'd like to go on every single detail of my experience there but that would take me forever. So there.

Other than the two main places that we went to (that is Mekah and Madinah), we also took a day off and headed for Al-Ula to visit the ruins of Mada'in Saleh which is a major rock settlement sprawled on a huge piece of land. Most of the rock structures houses the tombs of the people of that time as well as the palaces for the royalty. I thought that in order for one to be able to appreciate the entire stretch of rock settlement, a background research has to be done in order to understand the rich historical background. I came in rather unprepared and so I wasn't able to piece together all the information given to us. In fact, I forgot half the things the tour guide told us about Mada'in Saleh. Hahz.

Just so you know, some of the rock structures bears a resemblance of animals, and what seem like mystical creatures and also of people (of that time perhaps). Most of this structures turned out they way they did naturally with no help from Man. Sure, when I first saw them, Mount Rushmore came to my mind immediately. But the tourguide later confirmed that the structures took on those shapes NOT with the help of any form of tools. Maybe the climate and chemical reaction of natural elements played a part in the formation of the rock structures too. But mostly all I could ever think of is how Allah has been able to pave the way for such a majestic rock settlement to be established at that point in time.

So those were three of the main highlights for my entire trip. And then comes the nitty gritty stuffz. Like how I found it to be a refreshing change to travel on a strecth of road (by bus) which are flanked by empty pieces of land. Mostly barren of any activities. Just the sand and rocky mountains. And how it is pitched black when night falls with no form of streetlights dotting the road. Just the stars twinkiling brightly against the dark velvet sky. And my amazement looking at pigeons (hundreds of them!) flocking their way towards the entrance of the mosques, greeting all of us who were on our way to do our prayers. They are always there, it's symbolic somehow.

Hokay, I'll end here for now. Will update with the pictures on separate entries.
