For once after more than five months doing nothing, I actually hauled my ass off for a temp job. Though I've a sinking feeling, it's gonna be shortlived. Despite psycho-ing myself to work for a couple of months, maybe three, I actually found myself counting the seconds every work day. Now I know how you guys feel having to slog away at your part-time jobs ayyy.
Arghhh. This is so badddd. I'd planned on working for a couple of months coz I wanna get myself a new laptop. The one I'm using is working just fine. Connectivity-wise and all. But it does has it moodswings too and I especially hate it when the red streaks appear. It's sucha zaman batu syndrome mannn.
Ehhhh! And I just realized that I mention red streaks and moodswings in the same sentence. I guess my laptop do get the monthly crimson tide too. LOL. Anyways, as much as I'd wanna admit defeat, it's still too early to measure the level of survivabilty in this current job of mine. So I'll give myself a few million seconds more. Heh.
I blogged about the virus attack the other day right? Well it turns out that the worms not only wrecked the hard disk of my ipod. The entire content in my laptop is gone for good a few days after I'd emptied the contents in my ipod. So now, I'm MSN Messenger-less and Torrent-less. And I'm gonna have to install a whole bunch of programmes for my jog mp3, digicamm, handphone, ipod, etc etc.
And of course, I have to build up my music library from scratch. As in ripping tens of CDs into the itunes, and transferring a whole lot of other illegal music from the backup storage space (i.e. my old mp3). Forget downloading Veronica Mars mannn. I have wayyy too many technical woes to deal with already. Damn.
In spite of it all. As in, all these techh glitches that has hit me like a landslide, I have found a light at the end of the dark "tech" tunnel. Hah.
See, it all began when I headed down to International Plaza to have a pair of shoes customized. Those who know me, will know what a "cinderella" I am. It's just that, "prince charming" came tagged with the most unreasonable price EVER! It's like more than DOUBLE the cost than what I was used to paying for. More than 400 bux?! You'd think I'm trying to get myself a fancy designer wear or something. Seriously, it was just the most basic kinda design, those you can find at Bugis for just ten bucks? Yes, that one!
I was really really tempted to just go for it. Like totally wipe out my bank a/c coz I'm getting sick and tired of not being able to find the perfect fit for myself. But I just hadta call my dad, hoping that he'll pay half or something. And I got an outright NO. Can you imagine how hopeless I felt at that point in time? How I felt so cacat coz I couldn't find a pair of shoes that can fit me nicely? Totally totally sidelined, it's like I need to join in the line of all those ex-convicts, hoping to gain mercy out of the yellow ribbon campaign. Why wouldn't I feel that way man?! Millions of ladies shoes on the racks and nothing can fit me?! Whereas everybodyelse has the liberty to become the next Imelda Marcos. I felt dejected, violated...rather depressed. At that point in time that is.
Of course things took a turn when my dad kindly searched the internet for websites that could possibly sell plus-sized shoes. And really, I have to kick myself hard for not even trying to search them online. I mean, I should know better right. I can spend hours looking out for Victoria Secret's stuffz on ebay and yet I haven't the faintest idea to search for shoes that could fit me. Duh.
Ok, so my dad found a website which sells pretty big shoes and best of all, they offer shoes that are 'extra wide' as well. I've made a purchase, and now the only thing that could go wrong is if I totally messed up reading the size chart and subsequently chose the wrong size for myself. That can actually happen, coz I was pretty confused with the size chart, what with the US, UK and Euro variations. I don't know...I'm just hoping against hope that I got one which will fit me nicely.
Ah yess, the light at the end of the dark "tech" tunnel. Online shopping!
