Today's date look so pretty that I feel obliged to make an update.

For one, I am starting to get the hang out of my job now. It used to be quite a drag but I have been able to find plenty of sources for self-amusement. Like for instance, the numerous trips to LJS for most of my breaks are no longer solely for my purpose of escaping the lunch crowd. It is, in fact, an awsome place to people-watch from and if you found the perfect spot, you would actually be able to count BMWs.

Trust me, there won't come a day when marine parade would face a beemer drought. Hah. Another good thing is that I could actually hang out at Borders during my breaks and read free flow of magazines. I have yet to spend my breaks at the arcade though. I have been very cautious about the whole idea. Knowing how I could get easily hooked and end up spending half of my pay at Timezone. And that is so not worth it.

Anyhow, I have stocked up on my stationaries recently. It has been so long since I last stepped into Popular at marine parade, I'd forgotten how it looked like. In fact the outlet has gone through yet another renovation and this time the Harris section is no longer there. I have to say, that particular Popular outlet tend to bring back a wave of nostalgia in me.

I could recall those times when I'd call my dad up at his workplace and told him to bring me to Popular after he's done with his work for that day. On days when my dad was agreeable to the plan, he would pick me up and we would head over to the bookstore together. Most of the time I'd leave the store with a whole stack of books. It was from the various trips there that I really cultivated my reading habit.

I remembered leaving the store with tons of Enid Blyton's compilation of short stories. And then I'd upgraded to getting my hands on the more "intense" ones, such as The Naughtiest Girl and Mallory Tower. After which I progressed to reading Sweet Valley series, The Babysitters Club and my all time favourite, Nancy Drew. Oh, and there was yet another all time favourite classic, The Secret Garden.

I actually bought a whole load of books ayyy. Up to this point in time, I wish I had actually kept ALL of my book collection. Unfortunately, I wasn't much of a sentimentalist. I know I gave away most of my books to some charity drive or something, some get passed on to the younger relatives, some just morbidly disappeared. Heh.

I do still subscribe to the whole ritual of getting stacks of brand new books as and when I want to. Though I hardly ever do it at Popular now, thanks to the frequent books warehouse sale held at the Expo. Ooooh, and just recently, I bought two box sets of the Clique series on sale at Borders. Very much like Gossip Girl. Very twelve year olds. Lol.
