The picture was taken right after we completed our Great Eastern Women's 10km run this year. Trying to complete the run was quite an uphill task. This is especially so since our physical fitness activities have been greatly reduced ever since we graduated from pre-university. So you can imagine how 'rusty' we've all become. The event was pretty exciting considering it does not just attract those who are super-fit. In fact, women of all shapes and sizes took part in it. And at one point I could feel some sort of sisterhood pride amongst all the participants. That is, we are there not exactly to compete against each other but also to push ourselves to reach the finishing line together. Much I would like to gloat about my really "fast" timing that I took to complete the run, it turned out otherwise. Like I said, I'd been a little too 'rusty', so my friends and I ended up walking more than we actually ran. Nevertheless, our lacklustre timing in completing the whole 10km is definitely not gonna put us off from taking part in such running events ever again. In fact, it had actually motivated us to take part in the event again come next year. Hopefully we'll be so much more prepared by then!
